''Contact''
''Contact'' is the latest offering from that most prodigious CCC music group in Oxford Falls, Australia, and a sure, full-bodied delight it is. Boy, do so many of these
'down under' churches know how to make rich worship recordings with a great 'live' feel! Once again we find an expression (67 mins worth!) of deep joy and commitment, yet with a most professional sound. Recorded in
CCC's own ''Dreadnought'' studios, the album consists of songs written by the worship team's own members, including several by Chris O'Brien who co-produced the venture as well as helping with the vocal arrangements,
loops/programming and keyboard playing. He also leads vocals on a couple of tracks, including the most worshipful 'Glory to the King'. Other major contributions come from D.Holmes, J.Crabtree, R.Fowler and A.Naylor, who as a team
presented that most inspiring instrumental ''Prayerworks'' offering a couple of years ago. Indeed, a re-working of the sensitive 'I will wait' from that project is included here. Throughout, the 19-strong team of talented lead
musicians is backed by the equally proficient 17-piece Contact Choir. From funky gospel tunes (catch the sound of 'The joy of the Lord' for the meaning of 'funk'!) to bold celebratory praise anthems, such as the closing
'Jesus Generation’, to tender songs of adoration to the Father, as in the delicate and beautiful 'Hosanna', this is a passionate and varied platter. Worth checking out.
