"Night And Day"
Andy Park is a worship leader from Canada who has appeared on a whole string of Vineyard recordings throughout the nineties, including Touching the Father's Heart Vols.
3/4(!), 20 and 28, several Winds of Worship ventures, and his solo Acoustic Worship release 'Eternity'. In fact, the most recent WoW output, No.15, live from Canada, also features this veteran muso. On "Night and
Day" Andy presents a dozen of his own newly penned compositions, along with a re-working (with added lyrics) of the classic anthem 'Praise God from whom all blessings flow (Doxology 2000)'. His accomplished contemporary style
is as warm and appealing to the ears as the attractive cover design is to the eyes. Several music forms are presented, including light jazz sounds on 'All To You' (with it's funky sax solo), the blues tones of 'He Showed Me Mercy'
and the charming country waltz offered on track 2, complete with a (non-cringeable) Child's Choir towards the end. Accomplished musicians abound; Kelly Carpenter, Philip Janz, Daphne Rademaker, Monique Tute are all in evidence,
as is the Christian Assembly Life Choir on a couple of pieces. There are many moving moments, such as the song Andy dedicates to his parents, or 'Yet I Will Praise You', a deeply sensitive piece expressing commitment to God even in
times of tragedy. "Night and Day" is indeed a very fine album from a very fine artist.
