The Mandate with Robin Mark "All For Jesus"
This unusual and inspiring volume received a widely recognized British award near the start of the Millennium as 'Best Worship Album' of the year - the previous year's
deserved 'winner' being Vineyard UK's "Come Now Is The Time". Recorded live at the men's Mandate conference in Belfast, this was considered to be the largest UK gathering of Christian men for decades! Main
worship musician was Northern Ireland's own Robin Mark (who has since received increased international popularity via Hosanna's "Revival in Belfast" celebration) - he leads us through a striking series of worship 'hymns'
old and new. The old include 'I stand amazed' (wonderfully stirring), 'When I survey' (this song perhaps having been over- recorded in recent years) and 'I will sing the wondrous story'. More recent 'anthems' include a sensitive
rendition of Brian Doerksen's 'Faithful One', Dave Bilbrough's 'All hail the Lamb' and several of Mark's own compositions, not least his atmospheric 8.5 minute 'Take me to the river'. Great songs, admirably performed -
this is a truly rousing collection that is sure to get you singing along. I joined in on all 12 tracks (count it good fortune you didn't hear me!). Listening to this 65-minute set, there's no doubting it's worshipful focus
throughout - 'all for Jesus'.
