OVER UNDER EVERYTHING
by Circadian Rhythm

Songs:
  1.  Beautiful Savior
  2.  Where You Go
  3.  We Are Hungry
  4.  Something Glorious
  5.  Gloria
  6.  Into You
  7.  Ever My Love
  8.  More Like You
  9.  Sounds of a Revolution
10.  Raise
11.  Let Us Gather

If ever there was a modern worship disc to write, phone or email home about, you've got it here! Produced by DC Talk bassist Otto Price, known for his work with Sonicflood and GRITS; vocal production from Bryan Lennox (Michael W Smith, Commissioned) - and released on Bill Gaither / Toby McKeechan's 40Records label, "Over Under Everything" is one cutting edge blaster!
Formed in '96 during student days at Virginia's Liberty University, and having since led worship at scores of events nationwide, for many, a record from the vivacious fivesome that make up Circadian Rhythm is long overdue. While their creative style and compositions are very much their own, musical influences / likenesses would include U2 (whose 'Gloria' is one of only two non-original songs here), Delirious? (esp. on guitar-swirling anthems like 'Let us gather'), DC Talk and Among Thorns. And though not carrying as knock-out a thrust as Third Day's "Offerings", there is a potent, heart-bent drive here that virtually compels you to worship. That's why those yearning and infectious heart-cries 'We are hungry', 'More like You' and 'Raise' have strongest appeal to me.
Multi-talented Price provides much additional instrumentation - with string, choral and horn arrangements also in evidence. The result is a sound that is stylish, sincere - and quite superb! I can't help liking it - the combination of innovation and driving passion I find so convincing. Yep, you'll wanna write home about this one - once, that is, you've gone totally hoarse a-shouting from the rooftops!

Praise God - Andy Piercy and Dave Clifton

PRAISE GOD
by Andy Piercy and Dave Clifton
from the U.K.
Integrity Music

Praise God is an engaging collection of original post-modern praise and worship songs written by Andy Piercy and Dave Clifton, who are worship leaders at Holy Trinity Brompton, London.
Known for his work as the producer of Matt Redman, Delirious, and Rita Springer, Andy Piercy joins forces with Dave Clifton who has been a major musical influence in numerous best-selling recordings such as “Revival in Belfast”, “Come Heal This Land” by Robin Mark, Paul Wilbur’s “Lion of Judah”, and “City of Gold”.
Featuring songs with strong scripture and liturgy content, Praise God reflects the vitality and life of the new move of worship that has been sweeping the UK.

Songs:
  1.  Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow
  2.  My Beloved One
  3.  Every Valley
  4.  The Lord has Done Great Things for Us
  5.  You have Searched Me
  6.  Precious in Your Eyes
  7.  We Worship and Adore Thee
  8.  God is Our Refuge and Our Strength
  9.  We Want to Remain in Your Love
10.  We Do Not Presume
11.  Hold to Every Promise
12.  We Have a Great Priest

Does MTV still show music videos? When channel surfing I hardly ever see them anymore! (Which is probably a good thing!) But when I started listening to this updated, repackaged collection of songs from Piercy and Clifton, I had a picture of what a music video could look like. Imagine, if you can an Old English church or Cathedral, with cold tombs, home to those lonely, stone statues of Godly saints, long since left this world! Suddenly they raise their heads and find their limbs freed to dance down the paved aisles, as the 17th century Doxology, bursts out with this modern electric guitar treatment, “Praise God from whom all blessings flow.”
This CD is music for the common man. Described as “cosmopolitan pop rock!” It makes sense as these two worship leaders are from  H.T.B., the church that began the highly successful “Alpha” course from England. I feel that these two inspired men have sat down and put holy words to music that will allow normal everyday men and women, to enter into the sanctuary and Praise God.

Musically this is an excellently played and produced collection of songs.  Various musical styles are represented from the classic rock sounding, “Every Valley,” to the gentle acoustic, “You have searched me.”  They are tunes that are immediate in there attraction, hear them once and the next time, you are singing along with the refrains.  It is modern music injected with the mystery of the church, making it accessible to those of us who fail but stumble onward. Andy Piercy sings, ” Will You show me Your Grace when I stumble and fall.”
This is a prime example of the high caliber of music coming from the UK worship scene at the moment. Enjoy the effortless beauty of “Hold to every promise.” Song after song is being written as the rest of us in the listening and worshipping world are waiting with pleasure to bask in the Holy words that express true worship and a love for God.

Rend the Heavens

Recorded at West Shore Recording Studio, Lakeside, Montana.
Musicians:
Chris Campbell - guitar
Dwight Lindley - bass
Aaron Sternke - drums, guitars, vocals, piano
Jillian Sternke - vocals

All songs by Aaron Sternke except tracks 6 & 9 by Aaron Sternke & Marnie Hoover - track 12 words by Bridget Kempers

"Rend The Heavens"

Some 'worship' albums focus on celebratory praise; some center on an attitude of gentle adoration.
"Rend The Heavens" is rooted in a holy desperation for God; being essentially a prayer cry from the heart of four Montana worshippers for God to get His way utterly in their lives and ultimately in the life of the nations. Such intercessory focus stems largely from the involvement of each group member with outreach ministry YWAM, through whom the musicians initially met up and through whom this recording also originated.

Band founders are Aaron and Jillian Sternke; Aaron composing, and his passionate vocals leading on, nearly all these 15 striking tunes. Numerous tracks have a compelling, melodramatic feel, similar in style to the alternative worship of Seth Peterson; the mood changing within many songs from subtle tones to an edgy rock drive. Later tracks are drenched in humility and adoration, these worshippers bowed before their King and focusing on the truth of their incredible position in Christ. The sound throughout is raw and rootsy, the lyrics are potent prayers and truths which each one of us needs to absorb.

From beginning to end, this is deep stuff. Even the album cover appears to be soaked in the blood of Him who gives these guys their holy longing and love. The band's aim is simply that these songs 'minister to you and help you minister to God'. May our desire be at one with them and with the prophet Isaiah - that God would indeed
Rend the Heavens and come down.

Kent and Carla Henry, Phil and Linda Stern, their kids, Jim and Jessica (Henry) Stern, Matt Henry, Dann Stern and Will Stern all came together. Two generations, with a young band trying to achieve a high standard of excellence on their instruments. Now, three years after the struggle, the fun, the freedom, History Maker summarizes this time.

There is only one real way to experience Kent Henry and Jim Stern’s latest offering of praise and that is too play it LOUD!  It is a Big Sound and  begins with a commendable version of the famous “History Maker,” from Delirious?  This is a stirring anthem that prepares you for the theme of the project, a coming together of generations not worried about styles or noise but concerned with the deeper pursuit of God.

Jim Stern’s “the Call,” is up next. A massive explosive affair, that recommends the church to wake up and bring forward the young prophets as in the old Bible stories. Wailing guitars and thunderous rhythm section could well bring back Isaiah to cry out, “ who shall I send?”

Things slow down  after “Shout out,” as the audience is led into the first of two “times of prayer.” This is prayer, rock style! “Your Kingdom come and Your will be done,” builds the atmosphere, pleading with us to free ourselves and enjoy the party that  can be heard in the background.  “Everything,” comes next, an intimate love song to our God who gives us everything. It starts beautifully with a lone piano and ends with an electric climax of worship.

On repeated listens this CD gets better. The band is not only a family affair, they obviously enjoy playing together, and the sound is tight and played with conviction.  Excellent background vocals and an incredible sound permeates throughout , especially for a live CD.  Another Martin Smith song, “Come like you promised,” is added, but seems to lack Martin Smith’s vocal uniqueness!

The next four tracks slow the end of the CD down.  Visions are expounded, love songs are sung and we end with the cry, “All I have is You, all I have is You.”

This is a long CD, it might have helped to have taken a few songs out from that last four. But the words are positive and you will certainly get your monies worth!

“What are we waiting for?” ends the CD with guitars blazing and an audience refreshed at spending over an hour worshipping the living God and becoming History Makers!
