BEST KIND OF LOVE by The Father’s House
Recorded live in Vacaville, California |

Father's House in question
is a fellowship based in north Californian town of Vacaville, which church, like the town's own population, has seen dramatic growth in recent times, from only a handful of believers on it's inception in '97
to several hundred in regular attendance today. The second worship release from the team, main song-contributors to this seven-song (45 mins) set are Shane Guy, Ron Elm and pastor Dave Patterson, each of
whom also gives vocal and/or instrumental assistance.
As an indie project, overall quality of the production is astonishingly good, due in part, no doubt, to mastering and mixing aid from
veteran worship leader Kent Henry along with youthful fellow musician Jim Stern. Equally proficient is the strength of song-material and vocal / band performance, inviting definite comparisons in both style
and sound to same Mr Henry; evident, for example, in the extended worship flow attending these songs, the gutsy passion of some, mixed with gentler, intimate communications (sometimes on same track), and
also in the creation of spontaneous moments of praise, such as on the closing intercessory track here.
'Come Lord' is a wonderful, punchy song of spiritual thirst with infectious chorus
- what better way to set the ball rolling! 'I will praise', with it's delicious harmonica vibes and organ & guitar solos, (the latter a tasty feature on several tracks) is a rootsy slice of
praiseful funk, and like all tunes, thoroughly worshipful. The mood tones down a notch for the title track meditation, sensitively sung with it's co-writer Nancy Wilson, and the contrite intensity of
'Need to be broken', and even more so for the deep and beautiful 8-min 'Merciful God', with it's apt, ensuing Scripture reading.
These guys consider themselves 'little sons and
daughters, living to bring all glory to you, Father'. Their Humble Effort (also name of music label) - is indeed a God-honouring offering, being a strong and impressive worship occasion matched by
artistic insert photography. Best Kind of Love
is a genuine blessing.
